General Summary: The Sr. Financial Analyst is key in interpreting business situations in order to develop quality, timely, and impactful financial analysis and effectively communicate the financial implications in a collaborative manner. This role directs and performs financial analysis and reporting activities to support short-term and long-term plans, forecasts and operating plans. Additional duties include: assisting and supporting the financial planning process and procedures, evaluating data, preparing forecasts, and analyzing trends in all departments of the organization, preparing and distributing financial plans, results and reports for internal and external stakeholders, working with a variety of stakeholders, helping them to solve problems and achieve goals and presents complex ideas, models, plans and reports to small and large groups, and presenting to executives and other company leadership. The Sr. Financial Analyst must be driven to learn, grow, and lead in Finance. Essential Job Functions: Evaluates and quantifies impacts of various business scenarios and plans: provides detailed analytical support for ROI and other financial components of capital projects, new business opportunities, IT projects, sales and marketing initiatives, etc; Analyzes financial performance of the business, recognizing opportunities and concerns as they arise and consulting with other team members to develop alternatives for improving financial performance, and identify emerging financial trends; Develops plan models and templates - including revenue, cost of sales, operating expenses, capital expenditures, balance sheets, cash flow; Develops labor and benefits projections (annual, forecasts and strategic) - including capitalized labor projections; Assists and supports "budget owners"-- - with completion of individual plans and forecasts submissions; Analyzes plans and forecasts, review for reasonableness, explain key variances - create bridges from prior projections/results; Administers the planning and reporting software (Adaptive Planning); Supports the entire organization as a subject matter expert for Adaptive Planning; Identifies and implements process improvements for FP&A and related processes; Prepares and publishes monthly/quarterly/annual reports including: capital spending reports, Revenue, COS, RGU reports, departmental OpEx analysis, key operational measurement reports, KPI's and etc; Creates, tests, distributes, and tracks financial models, reports and dashboards; Drafts and presents plan/forecast presentations and period result communications; Monitors and reports monthly actual results as compared to plan, forecast, strategic plan, and previous year. Explains key variances in presentation format; Prepares board presentations for various entities on a quarterly basis; Performs ad-hoc financial analyses at multiple levels of complexity which may include calculations of rate of return, depreciation, working capital, investments, planning, cost analysis, and financial and expense performance comparisons; Travels to customer sites, project areas, business related events, and other Ritter Communications locations as required; Other related duties and projects as assigned to support the Finance function. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of facts and trends impacting the business, with a thorough understanding of functional relationships and activity; Knowledge of Company policies, procedures, products, and services; Skill in technical finance with a strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statement relationships; Skill with planning, financial analysis and financial modeling - supporting multiple functional areas across the organization (i.e. sales, operations, marketing, HR, IT, etc.); Skill in spreadsheet modeling; Ability to maintain analytical insight and curiosity - with a strong bias toward continuous learning; Ability to extrapolate data patterns and complete timely analysis despite ambiguous or incomplete data sets; Ability to collect data, research and synthesize complex or diverse information with focus on problem resolution; Ability to think critically, ask effective questions, and draw appropriate conclusions; Ability to review financial work to ensure data ties out, makes sense, and solves the question(s) asked; Ability to maintain quality output - quality assurance on one's own work; Ability to interface with all levels of the organization - with a collaborative, partnering mentality; Ability to organize, prioritize and handle multiple assignments simultaneously and to maintain high levels of confidentiality when dealing with company information; Strong verbal and written communication skills combined with effective presentation skills; Ability to travel for business requirements; must possess a valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record. Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting, plus three to five years of experience in finance, accounting or analytics (MBA/CPA/CMA a plus) required. Knowledge of telecommunications industry and knowledge of regulatory environment and the business impact of proposed and adopted regulatory changes preferred. Experience with Planning and Reporting systems such as Adaptive Planning a plus.
