Maintenance Mechanic plays a critical role in ensuring the safe,
efficient, and reliable operation of industrial boilers within a
manufacturing environment. This position involves performing
routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on boiler
systems to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan. The
mechanic will collaborate closely with the maintenance and
engineering teams to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues,
ensuring compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
By maintaining optimal boiler performance, the role directly
supports uninterrupted manufacturing processes and contributes to
overall plant productivity. The Boiler Maintenance Mechanic must
demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship, and
continuous improvement in all maintenance activities. Minimum
Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of an
accredited apprenticeship or technical training program in boiler
maintenance or a related field. Proven experience in electrical
maintenance within an industrial or manufacturing setting. Strong
understanding of boiler operation, safety standards, and relevant
codes. Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical
schematics. Preferred Qualifications: Licensed as a 1st Class
Boiler Operator. Experience working with programmable logic
controllers (PLCs) and automated control systems. Familiarity with
welding and fabrication techniques related to boiler repair.
Knowledge of environmental regulations related to boiler emissions
and operation. Additional training or certification in industrial
safety practices. Responsibilities: Conduct regular inspections and
preventive maintenance on boiler systems, including electrical
components, controls, and safety devices. Diagnose and repair
mechanical and electrical malfunctions in boilers to restore proper
operation promptly. Collaborate with maintenance and engineering
teams to develop and implement maintenance schedules and
improvement plans. Ensure all maintenance activities comply with
safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, parts used, and
equipment performance for reporting and analysis. Skills: The
Boiler Maintenance Mechanic utilizes electrical maintenance skills
daily to troubleshoot and repair electrical circuits, control
panels, and wiring associated with boiler systems, ensuring
continuous and safe operation. Mechanical aptitude complements
these skills by enabling the mechanic to address physical
components such as valves, pumps, and burners effectively. Strong
diagnostic abilities are essential for identifying root causes of
malfunctions and implementing timely solutions. Communication and
teamwork skills facilitate collaboration with other maintenance
personnel and engineers to optimize maintenance strategies and
share critical information. Additionally, adherence to safety
protocols and regulatory standards is paramount, requiring the
mechanic to apply knowledge of safety practices consistently
throughout all maintenance tasks.
