Job Description Position Title: Maintenance Mechanic BU or
Function: H2O2 City/State: Memphis TN Report to Manager Title:
Maintenance Supervisor Job Summary This job exists to manage a
broad spectrum of mechanical work on trailers and ISO containers,
as well as plant support. The job requires skills in interpreting
diagrams/schematics, utilizing diagnostic equipment,
troubleshooting and repair of all mechanical equipment, proper
isolation of equipment, and knowledgeable in virtually all
mechanical applications and intricacies specific to the Memphis
site. This includes some instrument/electrical work limited to
maintenance of trailers and ISOs. Performs according to safety
policies and predictive/preventive maintenance processes to support
the site's business goals and objectives on the plant as well as
rolling stock. Essential Duties & Responsibilities with %
Breakdown: Maintenance (80%): General requirements: /n - Perform
inspections on equipment as well as buildings and grounds including
underground services /n - Effectively troubleshoot mechanical
problems in the field (general mechanical systems, as well other
systems including refrigeration). /n - Scope and plan jobs /n -
Fabricate by reading prints, developing isometric drawings and
following engineering standards /n - Perform job layout, follow
piping codes, proper material selection, pressure testing,
fabrication, threading, bending, installation for pipefitting /n -
Understand, execute, and follow all procedures in the execution of
maintenance activities /n - Use power equipment (power hand tools,
grinders, drill press, saws, press) /n - Operate Lift Equipment
(Fork Truck, Boom Lift, Scissor Lift, etc.) /n - Repair, install,
modify and service all mechanical equipment. This includes but is
not limited to rotating equipment including couplings, alignment,
oil change, belts, bearings. It can also include conveyor systems,
and fixed equipment such as pressure relief devices. /n - Perform
flagging, proper sling selection/use, developing lifting plans for
rigging /n - Test all equipment worked on for proper operation
prior to turnover to production and logistics. /n - Document
maintenance work for site practices, as well as for governmental
and permit compliance /n - Provide feedback to supervision
pertaining to any abnormal equipment observations, including BU
Supply Chain Parts & Equipment Manager /n - Change oil,
troubleshoot, installation, replace seals, or rebuild pumps and
agitators /n - Perform general mechanical routines and
troubleshooting (Use of senses (Visual, Audible, etc.) for deducing
problems) /n /n Addition requirements specific to maintaining
rolling stock (trailers and ISOs) /n - Review Driver reports and
address complaints (per DOT regulations) /n - Inspect rolling stock
to 49CFR requirements /n - Assist drivers in repairing equipment
during pre-trip inspection /n - Identify trends based on driver
reports and driver behavior and suggest improvements. /n - Trailer
maintenance includes repairs and preventive maintenance on: lights
& wiring repair, brakes, ABS, pony motor, and air pac. Requires
49CFR certification/qualifications /n /n Other duties (20%): /n -
Participate in continuous improvement programs including SMART
(example daily management meetings and processes, problem solving
exercises etc). /n - Maintains a clean work environment /n - Update
of equipment drawings, manuals, and documentation /n - Use Database
Software to manage work orders and to acquire parts needed for Job
/n - Log time and able to describe work done in work order system
/n - Execute all tasks necessary as assigned to support plant
operations, such tasks may be of an unskilled or skilled nature /n
- Read company communications weekly, i.e. production advisories,
emails, etc. /n - Complete scheduled periodic training on time and
as required /n - Other duties as assigned /n /n Min Years of
Experience Minimum 4 years experience Education and area of focus
HS diploma and 4 years of experience in maintenance; trailer/DOT
maintenance and/or chemical manufacturing experience preferred
General mechanical, electrical, welding and fabrication experience.
Basic computer skills (Microsoft office, Email, etc.)
Certifications/Trainings: Pipe fitting certification 49CFR
certification for DOT inspection and repair of trailers and ISO
containers Competencies -Knowledge Skills & Abilities (KSAs) Follow
All Plant Safety Procedures and Policies (LOTO, SWP, etc.) Conform
to plant permits and certifications (ISO, cGMP, Title V, FDA, RCRA,
SWWP) Strong work ethic including good attitude and good attendance
Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to function
in a team atmosphere Strong troubleshooting and analytical
abilities Must be highly motivated and able to work independently
Must be able to communicate with outside vendors or contractors to
help on capital project work HES Requirement - All Jobs Supports
the site HES policy and complies with all regulatory and internal
requirements Participates in HES activities provided by site
management and Arkema Inc. (e.g., Behavioral Base Safety,
SafeStart, etc.) Supports and promotes the reporting of all health,
safety, environmental, near-miss, accident or injury incidents
Physical Demands/Working Conditions /n - Must be able to lift and
move objects up to 50 pounds consistently with heavier weight
necessary at times /n - Use proper PPE for job and area including
respirators for confined spaces, harnesses for elevated work, and
chemical suits /n - Be on call and work overtime as need to keep
plant up and running /n - Work at elevated heights (platforms,
scaffolding, ladders and grating /n - Position is based in
manufacturing facility with all inherent risks. Will work with
operators, managers and site champions to accomplish goals. /n /n
