Job Description:
Position Overview: As a Pediatric Respiratory Therapist at our
healthcare team, you will play a crucial role in providing
specialized care to pediatric patients with respiratory disorders.
You will work in collaboration with a multidisciplinary healthcare
team to assess, treat, and monitor pediatric patients, ensuring
they receive the highest standard of care. Key Responsibilities:
Patient Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of pediatric
patients with respiratory conditions to determine their specific
needs and treatment plans. Treatment Planning: Develop and
implement individualized respiratory care plans for pediatric
patients, considering their age, condition, and unique
requirements. Ventilation Support: Administer and monitor
mechanical ventilation, non-invasive ventilation, and other
respiratory therapies as needed for pediatric patients. Medication
Administration: Administer medications, aerosolized treatments, and
inhalation therapies to pediatric patients, ensuring proper dosages
and monitoring for adverse reactions. Patient Education: Educate
pediatric patients and their families on respiratory conditions,
treatment options, and self-care techniques. Monitoring and
Evaluation: Continuously monitor pediatric patients' progress,
adjust treatment plans as necessary, and document all relevant
information in medical records. Emergency Response: Be prepared to
respond swiftly to respiratory emergencies involving pediatric
patients, providing life-saving interventions and support.
Equipment Management: Maintain and calibrate respiratory equipment,
ensuring it is in proper working order for pediatric patients.
Collaboration: Collaborate closely with pediatric physicians,
nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated
and comprehensive care for pediatric patients. Compliance: Adhere
to all relevant healthcare regulations, guidelines, and protocols
while providing care to pediatric patients. Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Respiratory Therapy from an
accredited program. Current state licensure as a Respiratory
Therapist. Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification
preferred. Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Compassion and
patience in working with pediatric patients and their families.
