Job Description & Requirements Specialty: ED - Emergency Department Discipline: RN Start Date: 07/14/2025 Duration: 13 weeks 48 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Registered Nurse – Emergency Room (ER) Job Location: Methodist University Hospital, 1265 Union Ave, Memphis, TN 38104 Start Date: 07/14/2025 Contract Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 4x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00) Facility Type: Large hospital with Level 1 Trauma Center designation Job Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Emergency Room (ER) team at Methodist University Hospital. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in emergency nursing, preferably with prior travel experience, and be capable of providing high-quality care in a Level 1 trauma center setting. Key Responsibilities: Provide exceptional nursing care to patients presenting with acute illnesses and trauma in a fast-paced, high-acuity ER environment. Perform rapid assessment, triage, stabilization, and ongoing management of emergency patients. Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams including physicians, specialists, and support staff to deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care. Administer medications, treatments, and interventions as prescribed. Document patient care and clinical changes accurately and promptly within the designated EMR system. Participate actively in emergency procedures, resuscitation, and advanced life support. Adhere strictly to hospital policies, regulatory standards, and infection control protocols. Demonstrate professionalism and compassion in interactions with patients and families, providing education and emotional support as needed. Required Qualifications: Experience: Minimum of 2 years ER experience with travel assignments OR 3 years ER experience without travel. Licensure: Must hold an active Tennessee RN license or a valid Compact RN license at the time of submission (no pending licenses accepted). Travel Eligibility: Candidates must live at least 100 miles from the facility. Previous Travel: At least one completed previous travel nursing assignment required. Education: BSN preferred but not required (except for select positions). Certifications: Current BLS certification required; ACLS and other specialty certifications preferred. EMR: Experience with Cerner EMR system is preferred. Trauma Experience: Must have experience working in a Level 1 trauma center or equivalent high-level trauma experience. Work Schedule: Night Shift: 4 shifts per week, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Block scheduling typically not accommodated. Scheduling details will be discussed during the interview and may be subject to change. Facility observes major holidays including New Year’s Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas; staffing during these periods is mandatory based on the outlined holiday coverage policy.
