About the Role: Chief responsibilities include gynecologic oncologic surgical care of patients along with outpatient and inpatient consultation. This position is also responsible for training medical students, Residents, and Fellows. This position includes the opportunity for protected research time, and successful applicants are expected to both participate in and serve as site Primary Investigators on clinical in the Department of gynecologic oncology. There is also the opportunity for collaboration with other investigators in an exciting clinical research environment. This Physician will provide care in a clinic setting, offering state-of-the-art surgical options to patients (access to over 12 robotic Xi) to treat both malignant and benign diagnoses. The ideal candidate will be board certified/board eligible and possess excellent clinical and surgical training. We focus on high-volume clinical care, accessing the best education, research, and clinical care. We believe and mandate that Physicians first focus on life balance to ensure the best care for our patients, and we strive to find Physicians that seek this opportunity in collaborative compassion. - Robotic Surgery: Not only have we performed thousands of these surgeries on both malignant and complex gynecologic surgeries, but we have pioneered new techniques, set local and national standards, and have trained all UT graduate robotic trained gynecologists since 2005. We perform more gynecologic robotic procedures than any other program In the State of Tennessee or any of the bordering states to Memphis. - Innovative Therapies: A multidisciplinary approach of specialists, including gynecologic oncologists, radiation oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, and geneticists, are used to personalize treatment against gynecologic malignancies. - Clinical Trials: We offer a variety of clinical trials available through NRG, GOG, and industry-sponsored trials. We cover the full spectrum of Phase I, II, and III trials in all of the subsets of gynecologic malignancies. - ACGME: Committed to training Medical Students, OBGYN Residents, and Gynecologic Oncology Fellows. We have the only Gynecologic Oncology Fellowship Program in the state of Tennessee and are one of only 50 in the United States. - Access to Other Oncology Specialists Physicians: We have 7 Radiation Oncologists, 23 Medical Oncologists, 6 Radiologists, 3 Pathologists, 2 ENTs, 1 Palliative Care Physician, and 1 Pain Management specialist. - Full-Service Cancer Center - Mid-Level Support Offered About the Practice and their Mission: The division of Gynecologic Oncology at West Cancer Center strives to deliver the very best gynecologic cancer care in Memphis, the surrounding region, and beyond.
