Background & Purpose of the Job

Supervise and instruct team

The Business Unit Le will supervise and instruct team coordinators and company personnel in the production of quality products at the lowest cost to the company. Utilization of plant personnel in an efficient and cost savings manner in meeting PIC schedules, safety and machine maintenance. Resolves personnel conflicts on all shifts. Communicates with PIC to manage raw material and line scheduling changes. To provide the overall management, direction and coordination for the products within an assigned work cell. Orient new employees to the role. Plan/prioritize work of others. Assign work. Train less senior employees on an ongoing basis. Review/evaluate work of less senior employees. Oversee/coordinate workflow in work unit. Identify staffing needs for the work group. Recruit and/or interview to fill positions. Recommend employment actions (terminations, promotions, etc.) Act on employee problems (tardiness, poor work quality). Allocate personnel.

Who You Are & What You'll Do

You're a born leader: Ensure employees are following Unilever safety, quality, hygienic end environmental standards in maintenance and repair of equipment. Schedules maintenance employees for assignments and job specific training. Resolves technical problems in packing, processing, warehousing and all areas. Deliver reliability improvement and cost savings opportunities.

You're a strategy guru: Review all aspects of current packaging processes and develop improved quality, cost, safety and throughput to production lines within cell. Work with other Cell Leaders on entire Jonesboro production lines on a continuous basis making recommendations on continuous improvement and challenge the status quo to drive quality and efficiencies. Continuously improve the processes and machinery through various principles of Lean and Just-in-time production to reduce cost, improve quality, and improve the ergonomic safety of our team members.

You're a teacher: Manage all aspects of technical skill development for all personnel working in the production cell responsible for producing quality product in a safe manner.

What You'll Need To Succeed

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering or other related fields or equivalent work experience

  • 3+ year of leadership, preferred

  • Product, Process and Packaging Demonstrated Expertise or Certifications

  • Strong Analytical & technical thought process

  • Excellent oral, written communication and effective interpersonal skills

  • Able to complete occasional and typically domestic travel destinations, less than 5%, as needed for training
