General Summary:

The Mapping Supervisor is responsible for planning, assigning, and reviewing the work of the drafting team and other employees that may assist in supporting design projects. This role establishes team deadlines, goal development, and works to elevate company mapping accuracy and standards.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Supervises activities of Drafting Technicians engaged in mapping production;
  • Develops, maintains, and provides mapping standards direction to Drafting team;
  • Coordinates daily activities among Drafting Technicians such as: entering fiber, copper, and HFC orders, fiber extensions and market overbuilds, entering new ACAM remote sites, vetting locates as well as other daily activities;
  • Works with the Mapping Administrator for system and software updates and shares these forward with Drafting Technicians;
  • Monitors drafting work for accuracy and efficiency;
  • Coordinates and conducts regular meetings with Mapping team;
  • Works closely with all OSP Engineers to receive build information on a timely basis for data entry into mapping system;
  • Sets team member goals for projects and other team responsibilities based on completion dates and performance;
  • Travels to customer sites, project areas, business related events, and other Ritter Communications locations as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of electronics and network drafting principles and practices;
  • Knowledge of telecommunications products, services, and service delivery methods;
  • Proficient in the use of computer aided drafting software;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and forms including work orders, staking sheets, schematics and circuit diagrams;
  • Ability to analyze and effectively document large volumes of technical data;
  • Ability to communicate with customers, co-workers, and various business contacts in a professional and courteous manner;
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple work assignments;
  • Ability to create a team environment and sustain employee morale;
  • Ability to demonstrate skills in leadership and general management;
  • Ability to make sound decisions using information at hand;
  • Ability to work independently and pay close attention to detail with little direction;
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and handle multiple assignments simultaneously;
  • Ability to travel for business requirements; must possess a valid Driver's License with a satisfactory driving record.

Education and Experience:

Associates Degree in Drafting or Electronics, plus 3 years of telecommunications experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred;

Proficiency in Cadtel or Mapcom software is required;

Proficiency in use of CAD software is required.
