Position Summary
The Line leader is responsible for directing the activities of an
assigned production line including all employees assigned to the
line, employees running specific machinery, and giving direction
during cleaning times. Develop and implement all improvement
initiatives including but not limited to: Computer based production
instructions and procedures, micro improvement and prevention
measures, each shift and daily, according to schedules. Also
responsible for the development and management of all production
personnel assigned to the production line. Manage proper use and
documentation of materials used on the line for production. The
Line leader will also coordinate and communicate sanitation
activities during cleaning times on the production line and also
responsible for safe and sanitary working conditions for all
employees working on the assigned production line.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Timely communication of all operational and/or safety issues to
Team Leader to avoid accidents and unnecessary downtime. Any issues
that may adversely affect start-up, cause downtime, or could result
in an accident are the responsibility of the Line Operator to
communicate to the Team Leader and/or other managers
immediately.
Timely preflight of equipment to ensure that all weights are set
before the line start time.
Ensure that line is properly dried down and free of
condensation.
Know how to turn machine on/off correctly, read all displays and
menus and how to properly and safely operate the ASI unit.
Take and record weights and follow all requirements of TQC
program.
Perform basic mechanical adjustments and perform required
mechanical PMs.
Complete all specified paperwork in a timely, accurate manner and
deliver paperwork to designated locations at shifts end.
Timely completion of work orders so that repairs are made as soon
as possible.
Provide direction as needed to Ingredient Handlers and/or
Prepweighers to ensure that quality and performance standards are
achieved.
Adherence to plant attendance policies.
Maintain a positive working relationship with fellow team members
and other departments.
Team members will participate in Nestle Continuous Excellence (NCE)
and Lean activities such as the Create Stability tools, such as
Standard Work, Abnormality Identification, Center lining and Help
Chain.
Team members will be responsible for building their competency,
creating self-development plans, keeping those plans up to date and
help build the competency of others, as applicable
Contact the safety team for BBS observation training and then
complete and turn in at a minimum 1 BBS observation per week
Team members shall understand and follow factory management systems
for human safety, food safety and/or environmental management.
Understand and actively work toward achieving management system
targets and objectives.
Team members shall follow the plant rules, procedures, and/or
practices related to management systems. Team members will report
incidents and unsafe conditions immediately, maintain compliance
with regulations, and refer to the appropriate management system on
all related procedures and programs.
Ensure timely preflight and changeover of production lines and/or
equipment within prescribed changeover time allotment. Ensure that
all equipment has been correctly clean, sanitized, assembled,
aligned, inspected and operates properly prior to it being released
back to production use. The disassembly, clean, sanitize,
reassemble and inspection of various machine areas as required.
These machine areas could include but not limited to sauce fillers
and AVF.
