Position Summary


Works under the supervision of the Sanitation Supervisor and the guidance of other members of Sanitation, maintenance/engineering, operations and plant management.


EDUCATION: High school diploma, GED, or 2+ years sanitation/CIP experience preferred.

EXPERIENCE: On the Job Training

SKILLS: Reading, math, computer, and leadership skills

Basic mechanical aptitude.

Demonstrates knowledge of Nestl-- Lockout / Tagout and Confined Space Policy

Tech I and Tech II experience


* Work closely in cooperation with Sanitation Lead and maintain a positive working relationship with fellow team members and other departments.
* Timely communication of all operational and/or safety issues to Supervisor to avoid accidents and unnecessary downtime. Any issues that may adversely affect start-up, cause downtime, or could result in an accident are the responsibility of the Sanitation Technician to communicate to the Supervisor and/or other managers immediately.
* Assist as needed during start-up to ensure that line or area is up and running prior to leaving.
* Turn CIP systems on/off correctly, read all displays and menus, and properly, safely, and efficiently run all CIP cycles.
* Measure chemical concentrations and make proper adjustments quickly, safely, and effectively, while keeping chemical usage to a minimum. Be able to perform adequate titrations and document in Excel database.
* Ensure proper documentation for sanitation compliance (Pre-Op sheet/MES)
* Demonstrate good knowledge of all required chemicals, their properties, safety precautions, and correct applications.
* Make all necessary piping changes quickly, safely and correctly. Change gaskets and seals as required.
* Check all circuits as soon as starting any cycle to ensure no leaks or deadheads have occurred.
* Ensure that all CIP cycles have run correctly as soon as they are complete and communicate any problems to Supervisor.
* Safely and correctly disassemble and assemble product pumps, contherms, and other required equipment in a timely manner.
* Perform all duties and actions in a safe manner and continuously monitor areas to ensure that safety procedures are being followed.
* Always wear all required safety equipment, devices, and proper PPE.
* Timely completion of work orders so that repairs are made as soon as possible.
* Adherence to plant attendance policies.
* Maintain a positive working relationship with fellow team members and other departments.
* Team members shall understand and follow factory management systems for human safety, food safety and/or environmental management. Understand and actively work toward achieving management system targets and objectives.
* Team members shall follow the plant rules, procedures, and/or practices related to management systems. Team members will report incidents and unsafe conditions immediately, maintain compliance with regulations, and refer to the appropriate management system on all related procedures and programs.
* Knowledge of operating Floor Scrubber and Scissor Lifts (Geenie Boom) for work at heights.
* Other duties as assigned
