Job Description:
Position Overview: (Remote with Travel Required) The Chief of
Staff (CoS) is a member of the Surgery Partners leadership team
reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer. To succeed in
this role, the individual must have a proven ability to influence
broadly across all aspects of the organizations (both internally
and externally) and create deep trusted relationships.
Additionally, an in-depth understanding of large scale (125+
locations) multi-facility healthcare industry, technology, and
automation solutions as well as keen acumen regarding process
optimization. Essential Functions:
- Collaborate with senior leaders in a cross-functional manner to
partner on the execution for interconnected and cross-functional
imperatives, including coordination among corporate leaders (e.g.,
IT, Revenue Cycle, Accounting, etc.) at an enterprise level and
facility level.
- Monitor progress on key projects, identify potential roadblocks
and coordinate solutions
- Conduct or gather research, analyze data, and provide recommend
to drive decision-making processes or project movement.
- Develop, implement and drive operational usage of data-driven
metrics and dashboards across the organization.
- Serve as liaison between various internal and external
stakeholders; providing executive summaries to the executive team
as necessary.
- Lead large-scale complex initiatives by working effectively
with cross-functional teams; must have comfort identifying areas of
improvement, generating buy in and implementing change management
initiatives
- Ensure that initiatives and associated implementations are
aligned with the organization's overall near and long term
strategic imperatives
- Display a strong understanding of financial acumen to guide
financial stewardship among interconnected initiatives
- Maintain strong industry acumen regarding services,
technologies and offerings in healthcare in order to bring forward
concepts and approaches for near and long term strategic
imperatives
- Demonstrate strong ability to associate operations, data
abilities and gaps creating recommendations to deliver on the
business needs
This role will provide the applicant with significant exposure to
the executive leadership team, with significant access to the CFO.
The applicant will also be viewed as a broad-based change agent,
with influence across all disciplines of the corporate
infrastructure as we continue to position predictable, efficient
and value-added management services to support the Companys mission
of enhancing patient quality of life through partnership. To
accomplish this task specifically during the first 18 months of the
assignment, representing the office of the CFO, this individual
leader will be responsible for coordinating the successful
migration of the following key transformative initiatives, each of
which are owned by expert leaders reporting to the CFO:
- Realignment of revenue cycle management, accounting and
procure-to-pay cycles to streamlined and consistent approaches
across all ASCs and all surgical hospitals, in coordination with
enhanced data reporting, IT improvements, changes in facility-level
and corporate-level controls, vendor management and other
changes.
- Stand-up a coordinated business intelligence function that
feeds the business areas, regional CFOs and executive leadership
with consistent, real-time relevant information to support critical
short-term decision-making; will require the introduction of new
processes and teams, common data processes/definitions, and
education of key decision-makers on new processes
- Coordinate a response to other ad hoc initiatives that are
identified by executive leadership team based on evolved
data/processes
Requirements:
- 10+ years of proven experience leading large-scale
transformation initiatives
- In-depth knowledge of healthcare industry trends, regulations,
and best practices
- Strong project management skills, including the ability to
manage multiple complex projects simultaneously with deep change
management strategies and tactics to ensure successful
adoption
- Strong communication skills, strategic thinking, and the
ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders at all
levels of the organization
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the
ability to communicate complex concepts creating buy-in
- Prior proven track record of leading a variety of initiatives,
such as: Enterprise Data Warehouse, Master Data Management/Data
Governance, Corporate Performance Management, Driver Based
Planning, Procure to Pay Solution, Revenue Cycle Management, ERP
Strategy, Financial Close Management Optimization and Predictive
Analytics/AI Strategy
- Strong leadership and team management skills, including the
ability to motivate and inspire teams formally and informally
- Familiarity with agile and lean methodologies for project
management and process improvement
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to analyze data
and extract insights to inform decision-making
- This is a remote position with domestic travel
